THE SOIL
AND THE CLIMATE

Why the terrain and climate of
Does fulleda influence our wines?

The peculiarities of the soil and climate of Fulleda influence the final result of our work, the wines.

The terrain at 650m is calcareous loam. In a large part of our farms we find clay and in the other part river pebbles (especially in the Macabeus farm). The microclimate of Fulleda, with a great thermal contrast (heat during the day and cool at night), helps us a lot with the maceration of the skins, bringing freshness and finesse to the wines. It gives its touch of grace to the ripening because it does not overheat the grapes and they can be harvested at the right point of ripening. We would talk about a very particular continental climate in this area.
